There is no stopping Emma Pallant at the moment. Three weeks, three races and three back to back victories. After earlier successes in Challenge Gran Canaria and the BEST Centre Olympic distance triathlon in Mallorca, Pallant ran her way to another outstanding victory in Ironman 70.3 Pays d'Aix. Pallant crossed the finish line in a time of 4:19:56 with Bartlett (GB; 4:25:15) taking second as India Lee (GB; 4:25:30) claimed third.
Strong all day
Emma Pallant was in contention all day long. She exited the water in 3rd place, 2 minutes down from the lead. In the early stages of the bike leg, Pallant charged through the field to join the leaders at the 30K mark. The BMC-Vifit athlete stayed very focussed from there on and entered transition as co-leader. Right from the start of the closing half marathon, Pallant opened up a gap on her first chasers. Half way Emma had build up a cushion of 2'23 on her nearest rivals. She continued to grow her lead in the second half of the run to take another outstanding victory in Aix-en-Provence.
Very happy
Afterwards Emma Pallant reflected on her performance: "I really enjoyed the race today, the swim was tough and a bit isolated. But once on the bike I felt great and loved the tough course! And then all the support in town on the run was fantastic, it was awesome to run through the city centre. I’m super stoked to take the win here today".
